Notes
'April Kiss' camellia (Camellia japonica 'April Kiss') is an evergreen shrub for accent planting, containers, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes part sun and moist soil. Formal, double, pink flowers open against glossy, dark green leaves. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. You can grow it in a container and move it to a frost-free spot in cold winters.
Pairs well with Aureola Japanese forest grass, Ostrich fern, and Crimson Queen Japanese maple.
