Notes
'Argilière' apple (Malus domestica 'Argilière') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is grown for fresh eating. Pick the fruit slightly early and it keeps for a couple of months, but fruit left on the tree usually drops early. Plant a second apple nearby, since this one is not self-fertile.
Pairs well with Juneberry, Black-eyed Susan, and Prairie dropseed.
