Notes

'Aspleniifolia' European beech (Fagus sylvatica 'Aspleniifolia') is a tree for specimen planting, accent, privacy screen, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It grows slowly into a dense tree, and the leaves turn a fall color. Birds visit it.

Pairs well with Christmas fern, Lungwort, and Paperbark maple.
