Notes

'Aurea' peony (Paeonia 'Aurea') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its fragrant flowers open in early to late spring and again in early to late summer, and they attract butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Fire Island hosta, Spiked speedwell, Nodding onion, and Switchgrass.
