Notes

'Aurora' Pacific bleeding heart (Dicentra formosa 'Aurora') is a perennial for borders, shade gardens, and woodland beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, loamy, clay, or chalky soil. Pink, red, or white flowers open in spring and again in summer, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit them. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Golden Tiara hosta, Blue Ensign pulmonaria, and Black Taffeta coral bells.
