Notes

'Blue Ensign' pulmonaria (Pulmonaria 'Blue Ensign') is a perennial for shade gardens, borders, containers, and woodland settings. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, loamy, clay, or chalky soil. It blooms in early to late spring with sapphire blue flowers that open from dark pink buds, and early bees visit them. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. The dark green mound stays tidy and needs little care.

Pairs well with Elegans hosta, Christmas fern, and Green Spice coral bells.
