Notes

Autumn crocus (Crocus pulchellus) is a bulb for border, container, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry soil of most types. It blooms in early to late autumn. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Bees visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Sego lily, Maiden pink, and Prairie junegrass.
