Notes
'Autumn Gold' willow-leaved sunflower (Helianthus salicifolius 'Autumn Gold') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. It grows erect, about 21 to 24 inches tall and wide. Yellow flowers with dark brown centers draw butterflies, bees, and birds. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.
Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Gaura, and Blue Chiffon rose of sharon.
