Notes

'Low Down' willow-leaved sunflower (Helianthus salicifolius 'Low Down') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Yellow flowers with brown centers open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the blooms. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Spotted beebalm, Gaura, and Ornamental onion.
