Notes

'Mexican Sunflower' (Helianthus annuus 'Mexican Sunflower') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. Frost will kill it, so set it out only after the last frost in spring. This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows fast and stands tall, and butterflies, bees, and birds visit the blooms. Deer tend to pass it by. Cut a few stems for the vase.

Pairs well with Sensation cosmos, Black Velvet nasturtium, and Cerise Queen yarrow.
