Notes

'Avalanche' common hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis 'Avalanche') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. White, fragrant flowers open from early to late spring and attract bees. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. The plant stays about 9 inches tall and tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Queen of Night tulip, Autumn Frost hosta, and Heather.
