Notes

'Avalanche' lilac (Syringa vulgaris 'Avalanche') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, specimens, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. White, fragrant flowers open in early to late spring and draw butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. The plant also tolerates salt.

Pairs well with Flowering quince, Blue sage, and Pink Impression tulip.
