Notes

'Bakkum Blue' bluebell (Hyacinthoides non-scripta 'Bakkum Blue') is a bulb for woodland gardens, naturalizing, and spring borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade. Its royal blue flowers have purple highlights and a sweet fragrance, and they arch on the stem in early to late spring. Spanish bluebells can cross with this plant. If you grow both, remove the spent flowers before they set seed unless you want hybrids.

Pairs well with Siebold's hosta, Snowdrop, and Tree peony.
