Notes

'Banquet' peony (Paeonia 'Banquet') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The double, ruffled flowers open deep crimson in early to late spring and attract butterflies. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Prof. Arthur Percy Saunders bred it in 1941.

Pairs well with Ox-eye daisy, Toad lily, and Queen of Night tulip.
