Notes

'Banzaimon' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Banzaimon') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The blooms are scarlet with cream edges, which makes them stand out in a bed. A Japanese breeder developed it in the 1930s.

Pairs well with Star magnolia, Cat mint, and Stargazer lily.
