Notes

'Bay State' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Bay State') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large flowers are salmon-pink and make a bright show in the garden. You can cut the blooms for bouquets indoors. George Hollis bred it in 1907.

Pairs well with White Feather hosta, Immortality iris, and Ostrich fern.
