Notes

'Bayadère' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Bayadère') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large, double white flowers open in mid to late spring and show golden stamens in the center. They have a strong lemon fragrance. The stems are strong and the foliage is excellent, but it can be a sparse bloomer and is prone to disease, so give it good air flow.

Pairs well with White Feather hosta, Immortality iris, Prairie dropseed, and Christmas fern.
