Notes

'Beacon Hill' peony (Paeonia 'Beacon Hill') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Large, fragrant, dark red single blooms sit on tall, stiff stems, and bees and butterflies visit them. Edward Auten, Jr bred it. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Sum and Substance hosta, Prairie dropseed, and Annabelle hydrangea.
