beautiful-face rhododendron

Notes

Beautiful-face rhododendron (Rhododendron calophytum) is a shrub for woodland gardens, shade gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade. Its white to pink flowers have speckled maroon centers and open in early to late spring. Leaves can grow up to one foot long. The vase-like form leaves room to underplant with other shade lovers.

Pairs well with Lady fern, Snowdrop, and Euonymus.
