Notes

'Belle Chinoise' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Belle Chinoise') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Double white flowers open in early to mid summer. The loose petals are rose fragrant, and the stiff stems of medium height hold them well. Edward Auten, Jr bred it.

Pairs well with False Solomon's seal, Garlic chives, and Invincibelle Ruby smooth hydrangea.
