Notes

'Belleville' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Belleville') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The mauve, ball-shaped flowers have a light pink center and open in late spring. Harold E. Wolfe bred it, and it makes a broad bush with deep green leaves.

Pairs well with Pale purple coneflower, Goldsturm black-eyed Susan, and African Queen lily.
