Notes

'Benefis' peony (Paeonia 'Benefis') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large, ball-shaped blooms are burgundy-red and keep their color in the sun. Strong, thick stems hold the flowers up without support. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Royal Standard hosta, Pyrethrum, Black Parrot tulip, and Switchgrass.
