Notes
'Beni-kagu' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Beni-kagu') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The single flowers are carmine-pink, so they add a bright splash of color to the garden. You can cut the blooms to enjoy indoors. Auguste Dessert introduced it in 1905.
Pairs well with Cheyenne Spirit echinacea, Pink Impression tulip, and Ostrich fern.
