Notes

'Beni-no-tsukasa' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Beni-no-tsukasa') is a shrub for borders and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its woody stems stay above ground through winter, so you can leave them in place and prune only dead wood. Cut the blooms for bouquets when the buds begin to open.

Pairs well with June hosta, Hicksii yew, and Blue grama.
