Notes

'Beni-tsukasa' Japanese maple (Acer palmatum 'Beni-tsukasa') is a tree for borders, containers, specimen planting, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It grows slowly into a broad shape, and the leaves turn color in fall. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Bees and birds visit it.

Pairs well with Niobe clematis, Bracken, and Coral Sunset peony.
