Notes

'Berlioz' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Berlioz') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its double red flowers open in early summer. Crousse bred it in 1921, and it makes a bold show in the garden or in a vase.

Pairs well with White trillium, Royal fern, and Spanish bluebell.
