Notes
'Bertha Barr' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Bertha Barr') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fully double, rose type blooms are light pink with lavender shading and pale to white at the edges. They open in mid to late spring on strong stems. Gilbert S. Richmond bred it in 1955.
Pairs well with Brown-eyed Susan, Siberian squill, and Switchgrass.
