Notes

'Betsy' common hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis 'Betsy') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, single flowers are steelblue with violet and attract bees in early to late spring. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. G. van der Veld bred it.

Pairs well with Stargazer lily, Rainforest Sunrise hosta, and Blue grama.
