Notes

'Betty Crooks' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Betty Crooks') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Gilbert S. Richmond bred it in 1955. The fragrant, deep pink flowers open in late spring. Each one is a large, fully double, flat bloom, and strong, stiff stems hold it up.

Pairs well with Brown-eyed Susan, Garlic chives, and Queen of Night tulip.
