Notes
'Big Ears' lamb's ear (Stachys byzantina 'Big Ears') is a perennial for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It forms a clump of evergreen leaves and rarely flowers. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Purple blooms may appear from early to late summer and attract bees and butterflies.
Pairs well with Purple Coneflower coneflower, Blue fescue, and Green Spice coral bells.
