Notes

'Cotton Boll' lamb's ear (Stachys byzantina 'Cotton Boll') is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It forms a clumping, evergreen mound that grows 6 to 18 inches tall. White blooms appear in late spring and again in early to late summer, and they draw bees and butterflies. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Purple Coneflower coneflower, and Obsidian coral bells.
