Notes

'Silver Carpet' lamb’s ear (Stachys byzantina 'Silver Carpet') is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, ground cover, and xeriscapes. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its silver-green evergreen foliage forms a fast, clumping mat, and bees and butterflies visit the purple blooms. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It also handles drought well.

Pairs well with Moonshine yarrow, Magnus coneflower, Blue fescue, and Stargazer lily.
