Notes
'Bigarreau de Mezel' sweet cherry (Prunus avium 'Bigarreau de Mezel') is a tree for food gardens and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun. The columnar shape suits smaller spaces. Butterflies and bees visit the flowers from early to late spring. It is grown for eating fresh and is not self-fertile, so plant a second cherry nearby for pollination.
Pairs well with Spiked speedwell, Bridal Crown daffodil, and Pussytoes.
