Notes

Bishop's hat (Epimedium ilicifolium) is a perennial for ground cover and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part to full shade and average moisture. It grows 9 to 12 inches tall and spreads 12 to 18 inches, so give it room to form a low patch. Yellow flowers open in mid spring, which brightens a shady corner.

Pairs well with Bergenia, Wood lily, and Lady in Red lady fern.
