Notes

'Black Forest' peony (Paeonia 'Black Forest') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Fragrant, rose-pink flowers with yellow undertones and darker flares open in early to late spring. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. The dark green, waved leaves form a dense clump, and William J. Seidl bred it.

Pairs well with Patriot hosta, David garden phlox, and Stargazer lily.
