Notes

'Black Knight' butterfly bush (Buddleja davidii 'Black Knight') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil of most types. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Its dark purple, fragrant flowers draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. The arching stems grow fast and reach 6 to 8 feet tall.

Pairs well with Gaura, Feather reed grass, and Casa Blanca lily.
