Notes

'Attraction' butterfly bush (Buddleja davidii 'Attraction') is a shrub for borders, pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Fragrant purplish-red blooms open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn, drawing butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Its arching stems grow fast and reach 4 to 6 feet tall.

Pairs well with Feather reed grass, Green Velvet buxus, and Greig's tulip.
