Notes
'Black Magic' camellia (Camellia japonica 'Black Magic') is a shrub for specimen planting, hedges, espalier, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and moist soil. The deepest red flowers have ruffled petals and a shiny lustre, and they are 3 to 5 inches wide. Deer tend to pass it by. The glossy leaves stay green all year.
Pairs well with Crimson Queen Japanese maple, Cobra lily, and Sedge.
