'W.W. Black' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'W.W. Black') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fuchsia pink flowers have no red markings and open slightly flat. When fully open, they become globular in form. The petals are slightly ruffled and edged lightly with silver.
Pairs well with Empress Wu hosta, Goldsturm black-eyed Susan, Royal fern, and Pink Impression tulip.
