Notes

'Black Surprise' gladiolus (Gladiolus 'Black Surprise') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Its fragrant flowers draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Tall stems reach about 35 to 47 inches, so they make good cut flowers for a vase.

Pairs well with Montbretia, Black-eyed Susan, Sneezeweed, and Lemongrass.
