Notes

Sneezeweed (Helenium amarum) is an annual for borders, meadows, and low-maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to average soil of most types. Its stems are covered with almost-threadlike leaves and topped with yellow flowers. It is also drought tolerant. Legend says the flowers sprang up where the tears of Helen of Troy fell.

Pairs well with Spotted joe-pye weed, Blue sage, and Foxtail barley.
