Notes
'Dark Vader' pulmonaria (Pulmonaria 'Dark Vader') is a perennial for shade gardens, woodland settings, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist soil. The silver-spotted leaves stay semi-evergreen, and the flowers open raspberry-red, then age to purple and blue in spring. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Bees and hummingbirds visit the early blooms for nectar.
Pairs well with Lenten rose, Christmas fern, and Paris coral bells.
