Notes

Yellow-eyed grass (Sisyrinchium californicum) is a perennial for borders and low-maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet soil of most types. Its star-shaped yellow flowers bloom in spring and summer, and each one lasts only one day. It reseeds readily and makes a fine small edger. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Tickseed, Mondo grass, and Labyrinth dahlia.
