Notes

'Blue Flame' garden phlox (Phlox paniculata 'Blue Flame') is a perennial for borders, containers, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun. The fragrant flowers open from deep indigo buds into white pinwheels flushed with lavender-blue. Deer tend to pass it by. Butterflies and hummingbirds visit the flowers, and deadheading encourages rebloom.

Pairs well with Peony, Common milkweed, and Ostrich fern.
