Notes

Blue poppy (Meconopsis betonicifolia) is a perennial for borders, specimen plantings, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun and average to wet, loamy or clay soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. The flowers are three to five inches across in pale to deep sky blue. It does best where summers are cool and resents heat and humidity.

Pairs well with Siebold's hosta, Columbine, and Peony.
