Notes

Asiatic poppy (Meconopsis grandis) is a perennial for borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun or part shade and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. Sky blue flowers open from early to late summer on plants 24 to 48 inches tall. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Each plant spreads 12 to 24 inches wide, so leave it some room.

Pairs well with Lady fern, Rozanne crane's-bill, and Climbing hydrangea.
