Notes

'Blue Skies' lilac (Syringa vulgaris 'Blue Skies') is a shrub for borders, hedges, specimen planting, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. It blooms in early to late spring, and the flowers are fragrant. Bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit it.

Pairs well with Woodland phlox, Hardy geranium, Clematis, and Pink Impression tulip.
