Notes

'Blue Star' common hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis 'Blue Star') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Fragrant light violet-blue flowers open in early to late spring. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Bees visit the blooms, and the clumps stay about 12 inches tall.

Pairs well with Red Emperor tulip, Jetfire daffodil, and Imperial fritillary.
