Notes

'Border Gem' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Border Gem') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It forms a compact, bushy mound about 28 inches tall with dark green foliage. The double flowers measure about 8 inches across, with shrimp red outer petals and chartreuse green inner petals. They open early, in early to mid spring.

Pairs well with Cheerfulness daffodil, Christmas fern, and Sensation lilac.
