Notes

'Bourbon' clematis (Clematis 'Bourbon') is a vine for cottage gardens, containers, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Red blooms with yellow anthers open in spring, summer, and autumn, and they draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Mogens Nyegaard Olesen bred it in 2002.

Pairs well with Bee balm, Peony, and Black-eyed Susan.
